Students in Mrs. Speicher's 10th grade U.S. History class completed group research projects on aspects of the Civil War era. Some of the topics included prominent politicians, significant battles, everyday life of northerners and southerners, and the effects of the war. Students dressed up as politicians, created models, displayed primary source documents, and created posters for visuals!

Yesterday during middle school and high school house activities, students played team-building games, one being the "Affirmation Web." A yarn web was created as students and staff gave encouraging words of appreciation or admiration to each other while tossing a ball of yarn.

October is College Application month. ECS kicked it off last week by wearing college gear. There are several activities and contests scheduled for students throughout the month.

Yesterday middle and high school "houses" met for the second time this year and worked on a cooperative "escape room" activity to help build cooperation and teamwork skills.
