Senior Spotlight - Brayden Marshall Steenwyk Brayden Marshall Steenwyk, son of Linda and Bernie Steenwyk, is a driven member of the class of 2022. Brayden’s hobbies include Football, Basketball, and Baseball. One of his best memories from High School was scoring 1,000 points in Basketball. In addition to this he has fond memories of winning districts in Basketball and Baseball. Brayden has represented ECS on the Football, Baseball, Basketball, and Quiz Bowl teams. Furthermore, he is Student Council President, a member of the National Honor Society, and SAFE in Northern Michigan. Brayden’s favorite class at Ellsworth is Chemistry because he feels that it is way better than math. Brayden is most proud of winning back to back District Championships in basketball. After Graduation, Brayden plans to attend Ferris State University to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Nutrition. Brayden’s favorite quote - "For what's money without happiness? Senior Spotlight - Stephen James Paalman Stephen James Paalman, son of Katie Menestrina and Ray St.Amour, is the Salutatorian and comedic member of the class of 2022. Stephen’s hobbies include writing terrible (some may say funny) senior spotlights. Stephen’s favorite memory from high school is when he accidentally got an extra chicken tender at lunch. Stephen is a member of the Cybertronic Lancers, National Honor Society, and Quiz Bowl. Stephen’s favorite class at ECS is lunch because it is guaranteed to not have homework. Stephen is most proud of eating four full plates at an Asian Buffet. Olivia has represented ECS on the Volleyball, Softball, Basketball, and Cross Country teams. Olivia’s favorite class at Ellsworth is Art, because she enjoys spending time with her friends and working on new projects. One of Olivia’s favorite memories from high school is being named an All Conference Catcher her first year of catching. Olivia is most proud of winning the Pellston Softball tournament and qualifying for States in 9th & 10th grade for Cross Country. After graduation, Olivia plans to attend a Community College for two years, then transfer to a University to complete a degree in Social Work. Lilly has represented Ellsworth on the Cross Country and Track & Field teams. In addition to this, Lilly is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and the Youth Advisory Council. Her hobbies include hiking, water skiing, painting, roller skating, and playing the ukulele. Lilly’s favorite class at ECS is History with Mrs. VanderHart. She feels that Mrs. VanderHart made it educational and engaging. Lilly is most proud of dropping 5 minutes off her personal record in Cross Country during her freshman year. Keira has represented ECS on the Volleyball, Cross Country, Track & Field,and Basketball teams. In addition to this, Keira is a member of the National Honor Society and Safe in NM. Keira’s favorite class at Ellsworth is Science. Keira enjoys it as a whole because it allows the opportunity to explain even the most simple things, but also provides a challenge in the process of learning. One of her best memories from high school is the nostalgic story-telling and laughter among her class. Keira is most proud of how much she has grown and continues to grow as a young adult. She has persevered through many challenges whilst keeping a kind heart. After graduation, Keira plans to attend Ferris State University to complete the Associate Degree Dental Hygiene program. Jasmin Elena Adams, daughter of Olivia and Lambert Adams, is an accomplished member of the class of 2022. Jasmin’s hobbies include sports, photography, reading, and baking. Melissa Renee Ramos, daughter of Maria and Pablo Ramos, is a caring member of the class of 2022. Melissa’s hobbies include baking, and making memories. Melissa is a member of SAFE in NM and is the class secretary. One of Melissa’s best memories at Ellsworth is making their class sled for the winter carnival. Melissa’s favorite class at ECS is English. She enjoys it because as they learn the material they are making memories and laugh sometimes until they cry. Melissa is most proud of being friends with such amazing people. She says they are different in every way, but they don’t let that get in the way of just having fun. She has come to love and care about every single one of her classmates. She is proud and grateful to be a part of their lives. CC Lancer Ladies are 2021 Conference Champions! For the HS girls at yesterday’s meet, Maia Romeyn came in first with a time of 21:37; Emma DeYoung placed 5th, Olivia Strange 6th, Keira Dulaney 7th, Kyley Fuller 13th, Emily Belanger 12th, and Jasmin Adams 19th. HS boys took 3rd place for Conference. At last night’s meet: Tyler DeYoung came in 3rd with a time of 19:26, Patrick Puroll came in 5th, and Nick Sponable in 11th. For the MS, boys and girls ran together: Skyler Seaney came in second with a time of 13:44, Ben Strange took 3rd with a time of 14:19, and Ella Sponable 9th.
